Setting the context

This project started with a calculator tool that technically worked but wasn’t easy to operate. The first step was to understand why users struggled the moment they entered the dashboard.

What it does:

• Lets merchants define custom inputs (size, weight, quantity, materials, add-ons, etc.).
• Applies formulas and conditions automatically in the background.
• Generates instant output values like cost, shipping estimates, or final pricing.

Identifying the weaknesses

The old dashboard showed icons, a message, and a few placeholder tiles, but it didn’t guide the user. There was no hierarchy, no meaningful information, and no clear direction for what to do next. It looked like an empty state rather than the main control surface of a working app.

Gaps became obvious during review: users had to guess where calculators lived, what tools existed, or how to start building something.

Redesigning the product

The redesigned version focuses on reducing uncertainty. Instead of decorative icons and empty space, the dashboard now behaves like a real operational layer. Each section pulls its weight: recent items, quick actions, and system guidance.

I have tightened the layout, added meaningful modules, and clarified navigation. Every pixel now contributes to orientation or action.

Result

The dashboard moved from a broken front page to a functional starting point. Users land with immediate clarity on where to go, what they can do, and what has recently changed. The experience becomes faster, more predictable, and easier to trust.
